Penkala marketing
The Penkala company was known for its specific and carefully planned approach to the advertising of its products. Slavoljub Penkala himself devised his company’s numerous marketing activities.
His was the idea of the trade mark – the amiable-looking little man with huge ears and a pointed nose (in fact, a caricature of Penkala himself). The sign was produced by Penkala's sister-in-law, Academic Painter, Jadviga Matavovska.
Imaginative company memoranda, mannequin figures used in advertising, a range of promotional products, careful selection of newspapers in which advertisements were placed, combined with other well thought out steps, contributed significantly to the Penkala Company name being readily recognized around the world.
