Physically, Tesla was of striking appearance: almost 2 metres tall and exceptionally fit. Quite famous is the event that occurred one winter’s day in New York: he slipped on a frozen pavement and instead of falling and injuring himself, as one would have expected, he turned a summersault and landed on his feet. Tremendous reflexes and physical agility even for a young athlete, let alone for an 80 year-old – as Tesla was at the time.
Alongside his distinctive appearance and physique, Tesla was a man of fine manners, had a feeling for beauty and was highly educated – for one thing, he spoke six languages.
