Meneghetti Wine Hotel
Meneghetti Wine Hotel
Miracle off the beaten path
There are wonders you will never discover by sticking to the main roads. The well-tread paths are flat and gray, devoid of magic and imagination. No. Magic only happens off the beaten path. When you take the road less traveled.
At the end of this road stands Stancija Meneghetti— a vineyard where serenity abounds, graced with chirping birds, buzzing bees, and the aromatic scents of sage, sweet grapes, lavender and rose. Greeting you to this peaceful place are two majestic, centuries-old cypress trees. Say hello, as you enter their hidden world of wonder and charm.
Located near the Istrian town of Bale, but surrounded by olive groves, blue sky and Istria’s natural beauty, the hotel once served as a 19th century retreat for soldiers serving in the Austro-Hungarian army. Stancija Meneghetti still represents a rare oasis of peace and shelter from the stress of everyday life.
A green peace grows as you stroll through the vineyard where roses bloom among the healthy fragrance of the dangling, growing grapes— this is a region renowned for its vineyards and wine. Stancija Meneghetti produces its very own, high quality wine. All the guests are invited to join in harvesting and planting grapes and olives. The olives are used in the fantastic Meneghetti Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Just imagine all those sweet, scented juices on your fingers…
A rich, golden peace, cast in the shade of a pair of centuries-old oaks, the brothers of the cypresses that first greeted you to this haven, beckons to you under their rich, sun dappled canopy. In the tranquil shadow of these twin trees sits a table, laden with food made from rare and special recipes, fine wine and superb domestic oil. Come, celebrate an important moment in life, a new love, or just a seemingly ordinary day, though unusually full of colors, scents, experiences and stories.
Stancija Meneghetti and its surroundings offer a host of adventures for those willing to turn off from the beaten path. Nearby is the picturesque old town of Bale and just a short boat ride away are Brijuni. Have the hotel’s private boat take you to these islands of splendor. Explore this paradise, letting the archipelago inspire you with its beauty and history, such as the remnants of a Byzantine fort, dating from late antiquity. For active holiday lovers, Brijuni are proud of a centuries’ long tradition of golf, and as you come back from our private beach a series of well-paved paths leads yout to discovery of nearby fortifications from the era of the Austro-Hungarian dual monarchy. In the heart of mysterious Motovun forest step into adventure of truffle hunting - one of the rarest and most precious mushrooms in the world.
